Summary

Orbiter is a personal stargazing logbook. Your sightings, goals and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not require an account and we do not sell or share personal data.

Data stored on your device

• The sightings you log (object name, type, date, location text, sky-quality rating, notes, optional magnitude).
• Your observation goals and app settings.

This data lives in the app's local storage and is removed if you reset the app or delete it.

Cloud AI (optional)

If you turn on Cloud AI in Settings and tap the sparkle button on a note, the text of that note is sent over an encrypted connection to our backend, which forwards it to a third-party language-model provider solely to return a rewritten version. The note text is processed for that single request and is not stored on our server beyond the request. Cloud AI is off by default.

Data we do not collect

No tracking, no advertising identifiers, no analytics SDKs, no location permissions.

Children

Orbiter is rated for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
